Griffin O'Neal (October 28, 1964 – September 1, 2020) was an American actor and the eldest son of actor <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Ryan%20O'Neal">Ryan O'Neal</a> and his first wife, actress Joanna Moore. He was also the half-brother of actress <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Tatum%20O'Neal">Tatum O'Neal</a>.
His career included acting roles in films such as The Escape Artist (1982) and April Fool's Day (1986). He also struggled with substance abuse throughout much of his life.
Griffin O'Neal had a troubled and often public relationship with his father. This relationship was the subject of media attention and family conflicts, including estrangement at times.
He was involved in a serious car accident in 1986 in which his passenger, Gian-Carlo Coppola (son of Francis Ford Coppola), was killed. O'Neal was charged with reckless driving and causing bodily injury while under the influence. He ultimately pleaded no contest to a lesser charge.
O'Neal battled substance abuse for many years. He went through various treatment programs in attempts to overcome his addictions.
He died on September 1, 2020, at the age of 55, following a cardiac arrest.
